Leadership Camp Dallas is an action-packed summer camp for entering 3rd – 8th grade boys. Drawing upon decades of experience, the camp aims to help boys develop the skills and virtues necessary to be a leader.
The Program
Each boy is placed on a team with about 10 other campers. Over the course of the week he attends activities, competes in games, and wins points towards the glorious LCD Cup. Every morning campers attend Holy Mass, compete in football, soccer, dodgeball, and other sports, and attend a talk on a specific virtue. In the afternoons, boys compete in various camp-wide activities such as Capture the Flag, Death Valley, Olympics, a Treasure Hunt and Talent Show, and cool off with a swim. Campers will also have the opportunity to learn skills such as woodworking and story-telling. Spiritual activities, such as the Rosary and confession, are also offered.
Throughout the week, the counselors of each team help the boys to apply principles of leadership and lessons from the virtue talks to concrete situations during the camp. Most importantly, the staff speak individually with each camper to help him grow in self-knowledge and to formulate resolutions for growing in character after the camp.
